About LCB
Vision and Goals Statement: Denise Vogt, Artistic
Director
Lakeville City Ballet ("LCB") introduces the art of high
quality, professional-grade dance to Minnesota communities
not typically served by Twin City groups, particularly
in the South Metro area-thus educating and enriching the
lives of children and adults in our community. LCB provides
first-hand exposure to the beautiful artistry, discipline
and athleticism of ballet and other dance forms, through
a series of high caliber performances ranging in style
from classical to contemporary. The performances feature
a mix of professionals and student performers and members
of the community. Lakeville City Ballet also engages in
a variety of community outreach initiatives.
Outreach - We educate
and interact with children with Outreach "Mobile Shows" that
will tour the elementary school system. These shows incorporate
Art, Dance, Music and History into appropriate presentations
for the public schools in this area.
Nutcracker Ballet - LCB performs a
traditional, full-length Nutcracker Ballet to full houses
on Thanksgiving weekend. This production, originally
produced by Dance Works Performing Arts Center, is celebrating
10 years; three years by Lakeville City Ballet. Each
year a complimentary performance of The Nutcracker is
offered for the 4th Graders in our area. We are expanding
the repertoire of the Company, with these favorite classics,
Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty .
Summer Dance Festival -
As part of meeting LCB's community outreach goals, we annually
sponsor and produce Lakeville's A Summer Dance Festival.
This program provides area students with an additional opportunity
to perform and share the art of dance in a non-competitive
environment. Area dance schools are invited to participate. Back
