Welcome!

Lakeville City Ballet strives to introduce the artistry, discipline and athleticism of ballet and other dance forms to Minnesota communities, through performances, educational and interactive programs, and community events.

LCB is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit dance organization that draws its dancers from area schools, community residents, and professional dance companies. Governed by a nine-member volunteer Board of Directors and driven by the energy and efforts of dedicated parents, students, volunteers and community sponsors, LCB continues to develop a variety of community outreach initiatives, including working with other arts organizations and schools, and to offer both its participants and audiences the opportunity to experience the enriching world of dance.

Its inaugural performance, the highly acclaimed full-length production of "The Nutcracker" ballet, was presented to full houses in December 2003. LCB has performed its flagship performance of The Nutcracker annually since its inception, seen by over two thousand audience members each year. LCB also awards yearly Scholarships to eligible students, hosts an annual Summer Dance Festival that provides area schools and professionals an opportunity to perform together in a non-competitive atmosphere, and conducts Outreach and educational seminars and demonstrations in area schools. In 2009 LCB conducted its first Two Week Repertoire Program, offering student dancers a taste of what it is like to be in an actual dance company—pieces learned and rehearsed in the Program are then performed in the Summer Dance Festival.

LCB is based in Lakeville , Minnesota , one of the fastest growing cities in the upper Midwest , located approximately 20 miles south of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
