Do you want to be in Lakeville City Ballet's Original Full-Length Nutcracker?
Try out for LCB's annual production of this beloved family classic, which will be presented from November 24-29, and to the general public at its traditional time on Thanksgiving Weekend 2009.
AUDITION
Children ages 7-12 years old: September 20, 2009 , Noon-2pm, at Ballet Royale Minnesota, 16233 Kenyon Ave., Suite 100 , Lakeville , MN 55044
Dancers 13 years & older with previous ballet experience: please Contact Denise Vogt by September 12, 2009 to arrange for a Placement/Audition class during the week of September 14-19th
Students of Ballet Royale Minnesota will be auditioned/evaluated during their normal classes the week of September 14-19 th , and do not need to attend or arrange for any separate audition.
There will be a mandatory parents' meeting following the September 20 th audition, at approximately 2:15pm . The casting for the Nutcracker, including the dancers who have been evaluated in the preceding week, will be announced at that time.

Lakeville City Ballet hosted its 6th annual “Summer Dance Festival” on Wednesday, August 12 th at Lakeville South High School Theater.
In furtherance of LCB's goal to enhance the art of dance in our community, it arranges, sponsors and brings together a variety of local dance groups and dancers and gives them an opportunity to perform in a non-competitive atmosphere. This year seven different schools and local professional dance groups performed together, joined for the first time by Lakeville City Ballet's Two Week Repertoire students.

STUDENT DANCER RECOGNITION SCHOLARSHIPS
Lakeville City Ballet is proud to announce and extend heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of its 2009 Student Dancer Recognition Scholarships. The purpose of these scholarships is to recognize excellence in the art of dance by persons in our community; to provide financial support and tangible encouragement to young dancers so that their development might continue; and to identify area dancers who are dedicated to making dance training, education, and performance a central part of their lives. Eligible applicants must have recently performed with Lakeville City Ballet or participated in a program or event sponsored by Lakeville City Ballet, and been accepted into a recognized summer intensive dance program in 2009. The Grant winners-$750 and $500 each-are area students who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating excellence, commitment, and dedication to the art of dance.
This year's recipients are: Nicole Brown (Lakeville); Carolyn Kalscheur (Lakeville); Deidre Mattingly ( Burnsville ); and Janae Korte ( Prior Lake ).
These talented dancers will also be appearing in Lakeville City Ballet's annual "The Nutcracker" ballet coming up on Thanksgiving weekend. Congratulations to you all! |
