Past Performances

  • The Nutcracker, 2003

Lakeville City Ballet's inaugural performance, the full-length production of Denise Vogt’s "The Nutcracker" was a resounding success! The Nutcracker was presented on December 5 and 6, 2003, with a complimentary performance for area fourth graders also given on the morning of the 5th. Featuring a cast of over 100, the performance included guest professional dancers, student dancers from area schools, and other members of the community, and played to full houses for all of the shows.

Denise Vogt's Nutcracker production has been developed over the past several years through annual performances by LCB's home school, Dance Works Performing Arts Center--beginning in 2003 the production will be done by LCB. The year 2003 marks the eighth annual performance of the ballet.

David Stright reprised his popular interpretation of the role of the mysterious Drosselmeyer. He was joined this year by members of the Minneapolis based James Sewell Ballet: Brittany Fridenstine and Matthew Keefe dancing the roles of Snow Queen and King, and Penelope Freeh and Benjamin Johnson as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
